What does it mean?
A sketch design explores layout, volume, daylight and the relationship with the existing home. It helps to discuss options before working out many details.
Involve the structural engineer for large openings or height extensions. It can then be investigated at an early stage which supporting structure suits the design. A sketch is not yet a drawing package ready for implementation.

Make the assignment concrete
Ask what documents you are receiving, what purpose they are for and what level of detail is provided. Agree on how additions and design changes will be processed and who will coordinate with other parties.
Work with the correct revision
Check that calculations and drawings refer to the same situation. Have important changes assessed first and provide all parties involved with the current documents.
