The same opening width does not mean the same constructive assignment. Overhead loads, available supports and the existing foundation may differ. Therefore, compare quotation contents next to the amount. A usable request contains floor plans, desired sizing, photos and known deviations. The clearer this information is, the more targeted the required assessment can be.

Can I tell from the thickness whether my wall is load-bearing?
Wall thickness is at most an indication. The load-bearing direction of floors, upper building components, previous renovations and the actual support must be considered together. Collect drawings from multiple floors and determine what additional information is needed. Do not start removal based on a knock test or a comparison with another home.
Is the foundation also examined for a load-bearing wall?
That depends on the agreed assignment and the consequences of the breakthrough. A beam can concentrate forces on smaller support points. The underlying construction and foundation may therefore be relevant. Ask explicitly which supports, columns and existing parts are included, so that it is clear where the assessment ends.
