What is it used for?
Reinforced concrete combines concrete and reinforcement. The concrete quality, reinforcement quantity, location and coverage are worked out for the relevant construction part.
What needs to be coordinated?
Use the final construction and reinforcement drawings for ordering and execution. Align recesses and cast-in parts before pouring the concrete.
- Concrete quality and environmental class
- Reinforcement plan and coverage
- Openings and embeds
- Formwork
- Execution and hardening conditions
From material selection to material list
A complete list lists the parts, specifications, quantities and associated drawing revision. Let this information match the established design and elaboration of the supplier.
Check whether material, dimensions, quantities and connections in the supplier's quotation correspond to the design documents.
Who provides what information?
- The designer determines the building assembly.
- The structural engineer determines the required constructive performance and specifications within the order.
- The supplier develops the agreed products and production data.
- The contractor coordinates delivery, installation and inspection.
Which details matter for concrete and reinforcement?
Concrete strength alone does not define a complete concrete structure. Dimensions, reinforcement, cover, connections and construction requirements must also match the design. Before pouring, agree how dimensions and reinforcement will be checked and who assesses discrepancies. A slab does not automatically require the same details as a pad foundation.
